Welcome New Chairman Chris Oldfield

Chris Oldfield has been appointed as an Independent Director and Chair of Shaw Contracting.

For the past three years, Chris has been Australia’s Consul-General in San Francisco and the Australian Trade and Investments Commission’s (Austrade’s) Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner on the West Coast of the USA. 

Prior to this posting, Chris was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tasmanian Irrigation Pty Ltd and successfully oversaw the development of the first 10 schemes of this industry changing development. Chris is also the former CEO of the Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association and a former Member of the Joint Commonwealth and Tasmanian Economic Council.

Chris brings a strong ethos of corporate governance to Shaw and has a proven track record of developing resilient cultures within businesses. Most importantly, as with all of us at Shaw, Chris is a passionate Tasmanian and totally committed to the economic and social development of our state.
