WORK PLACE SAFE AWARDS

Shaw Contracting won the overall State Award for Best Work Place Safety Management System in Tasmania in 2005. As a result of winning the State Award, Shaw Contracting then went on to represent Tasmania at the national Safe Work Australia Awards 2005 held in Canberra.

Shaw developed the safety management plan that was applied across all of its operations to ensure best work practice and safety to all stakeholders. Overtime the implementation has reduced workplace incidents and accidents and changed the culture dramatically.

As time goes on the upgrading and further implementation of this plan is proving to be a positive influence in safety culture across all Shaw Contracting worksites.

CGU BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AWARDS

Shaw was awarded the Safe Business Award in the CGU Launceston Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards in 2005. These awards recognise businesses that set the benchmark for others to follow and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in all aspects of their business activities.

Following the Safe Business Award in 2005, Shaw was awarded the ‘Hard’ Trade and Services Award in the CGU Launceston Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards in 2006.
