Shaw delivered the design and construction of a 2.2km submarine cable between Tinderbox and Dennes Point, securing Bruny Island’s electricity supply and reducing diesel reliance. The project involved cliff-mounted structures, marine installations, and sensitive environmental conditions. Despite last-minute vessel changes and COVID-19 supply issues, Shaw completed the complex project safely, on time, and within budget. This project won Shaw a prestigious award with the Civil Contractors Federation (CCF) winner of Institute of Engineers Australia Award.
