TASK
Shaw replaced approximately 950m of track within the historic Rhyndaston Tunnel, one of the steepest and most challenging sections of the TasRail network. Working in a confined tunnel environment, the team implemented advanced ventilation, air monitoring and safety controls to manage dust and welding activities. Innovative construction methods enabled track replacement while maintaining rail operations, and surplus material was repurposed into new hardstands for TasRail, delivering lasting value beyond the project itself.
