Our Business Development Team is looking for a Business Development Support Officer to be the engine behind our tender and project coordination efforts, based in Launceston.

Working with our Tender Manager and Business Development Manager, you will assist in tender coordination, development and submission so Shaw puts its best foot forward on every opportunity. What the Role Looks Like

This role requires more than strong administration skills; we are looking for someone who can learn our industry, understand what we do and bring creativity to how Shaw communicates its capability through written content, imagery and professional tender presentation.

Key Tasks:

• Prepare and format Expressions of Interest and tender documentation to a polished, professional standard and on time
• Apply creativity to the presentation of tender submissions, including document layout, supporting graphics, project imagery and other visual content.
• Assist with the selection of relevant project photographs and imagery from Shaw’s image library to support tender responses and capability documentation.
• Assist in the coordination of the tender and presentation process maintaining tender registers, templates and capability documents
• Manage tender portal accounts and monitor new opportunities
• Maintain accurate electronic filing and document control systems
• Provide high quality administrative and proactive support to the Business Development team
• Contribute to a team where accuracy, presentation and integrity matter every day

What You Will Bring

• 5+ years’ experience in a coordination, administration or management role.
• Verbal communication skill. The ability to understand the story behind each opportunity: what matters to the client, what differentiates Shaw, and how our experience, people and approach can be brought together into a clear and compelling tender submission.
• Excellent written skill. A very high standard of written English, including grammar, spelling, sentence structure and the ability to proofread and improve professional written content.
• A sharp eye for detail and a strong sense of pride in polished, professional presentation.
• Confident proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with the ability to produce clean, well formatted documents.
• A strong visual eye and the ability to select appropriate photographs, imagery and supporting content that strengthens the message and presentation of a submission.
• Creative initiative – someone who can identify opportunities to improve a document, presentation or submission rather than simply following an established template.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet non-negotiable deadlines.
• A commitment to teamwork, integrity and continuous improvement.

Highly Regarded

• Experience in civil construction, infrastructure, mining or professional services.
• Exposure to tender coordination or business development environments.
• Familiarity with government tender portals or procurement processes.

The Opportunity

As Project Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of multiple concurrent projects across Shaw’s diverse portfolio. About the role

We are looking for an experienced Final Trim Grader Operator to join our team and work across various sites and projects statewide. This is a highly skilled, hands-on role suited to an operator who takes real pride in precision work. You will be responsible for achieving final trim tolerances on road, dam, irrigation and infrastructure projects, working closely with Supervisors and Engineers to deliver finished surfaces to specification. This is a genuine opportunity to bring your craft to some of Tasmania’s most significant civil projects.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a grader to achieve final trim levels, cross falls and surface tolerances to design specification
• Read and interpret plans, survey data and design levels to guide precision grading work
• Operate GPS/machine control grading systems (where fitted) as well as trim to pegs/string lines
• Carry out pre-start checks and routine maintenance on plant and equipment
• Work safely and efficiently alongside other plant operators, trades and site supervision
• Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental and quality requirements on site

About you

• Minimum 5 years’ experience operating graders, with demonstrated final trim experience
• Relevant tickets/competencies and a valid driver’s licence
• Proven ability to read plans and work to fine tolerances with minimal supervision
• Experience with machine control/GPS grading systems highly regarded
• A strong safety mindset and commitment to quality on every job
• Willingness to work away from home when required (living away allowance and travel provided)
• Good attitude, self-motivation, and the ability to work well as part of a team
