Shaw has partnered with BMTJV over multiple stages of the Renison D Dam Tailings Storage Facility, delivering a series of major upgrades over almost a decade. Originally engaged to construct the initial dam, Shaw has subsequently completed several dam wall raises, with more than 1.5 million cubic metres of rock, clay and filter materials placed in the challenging conditions of Tasmania’s West Coast.
The scope has included the installation of bituminous liners, detailed foundation improvements, including dental concrete, decant structures and spillways.
Working collaboratively with BMTJV and the design team, Shaw has helped improve the constructability of successive stages to achieve best-for-project outcomes. As part of this long-term partnership, Shaw has also supported BMTJV with production facilities, mine maintenance and operational infrastructure enhancements.
